YOUNG ARTISTS | THE ROYAL DRAWING SCHOOL

EQUIPPING THE NEXT GENERATION

‘Drawing is a crucial route to innovation across the creative disciplines and beyond, from fashion, fine art and animation, to filmmaking, product and graphic design, architecture and engineering.’ Catherine Goodman, Artistic Director.

The Young Artists programme for 10–18 year olds offers a unique opportunity to students from all backgrounds who want to develop their drawing skills.

Students aged 10–14 with an interest and aptitude for drawing can join our weekly Drawing Clubs. The Young Associates programme is for students aged 15–18 looking to continue their creative studies. Fee paying and full scholarship places are offered on both programmes. Weekly classes are held on Saturdays at venues including the School’s Shoreditch studios, The National Gallery, Notting Dale Campus, online and out of house in the city. Students have the opportunity to draw from the model, directly from artworks as well as developing studio responses from drawings made in the streets and green spaces of London. In addition to the weekly term time courses for young artists, the Royal Drawing School also offers intensive one week holiday courses in the school holidays as well as occasional one-day pop up courses.

The Young Artists programme is taught by professional artists who are alumni of our postgraduate programme, The Drawing Year.
